Barcelona Biomedical Research Park

The Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) is one of Europe’s leading hubs for biomedical research, home to several top-tier scientific institutions. It fosters collaboration and innovation in health and life sciences by providing a dynamic and supportive environment. I’ve worked at the PRBB since 2007—first in reception, then in the PR and Communications Department of the organization managing the building. Over the years, my role has evolved to support the PRBB’s mission of providing the best possible environment for excellent biomedical research.

Work Summary

Since 2007, I’ve been part of the PRBB Consortium—the organization that manages the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park, a scientific hub with over 1,500 researchers, technicians, and administrative staff. I work within the Public Relations and Communications Department, where I serve primarily as Venue Manager, while also actively contributing to the wider public relations strategy and development of new projects.

I oversee all the building’s event spaces—the auditorium, seminar rooms, terraces, and other facilities—ensuring they are fully equipped and well-maintained from a technical and service standpoint. I manage bookings from both internal and external clients, tailoring contracts and pricing to each event’s specific needs. I also coordinate all logistics, including hiring and scheduling the necessary support staff such as AV technicians, security, and cleaning crews. Additionally, I plan and prioritize investments in audiovisual equipment to ensure our facilities stay up-to-date with current technical standards.

When I first started, there were no structured procedures in place. Over time, I built and implemented clear workflows that now guide every aspect of our service. The result is a smooth, agile booking experience that clients consistently praise for its efficiency and simplicity. I’m especially proud of leading the adoption of a reservation platform developed by the then-startup Dasyk—now a successful company—whose system is widely appreciated by the PRBB community.

I’ve always been quick to explore and integrate new technologies, identifying promising tools and adapting them to improve workflows. I’m highly proficient with all kinds of software and enjoy discovering and implementing digital solutions that increase efficiency.

In addition, I act as the internal reference for all things audiovisual, contributing my technical expertise in video, sound, and photography to various initiatives, including the PRBB Podcast. I also work closely with the rest of the public relations team to brainstorm, design, and help implement new communication projects that support the PRBB’s mission of providing an optimal environment for excellent biomedical research.
